A very useful way to practise Spanish is to get a Spanish penpal. There are many sites online that match you up with penpals in any language you’re learning. You can start off by chatting via email or even WhatsApp, and then as you get more confident, you can move onto video chatting.

One of my kinesthetic activities involves tossing a ball while constructing a pyramid of grammatical structures. This technique effectively combines language practice with physical movement. Engaging in physical activities while practicing the language activates multiple areas of the brain, facilitating the transition of information from working memory to long-term memory.

For students looking to enhance their learning outside of class, I suggest incorporating simple physical activities into their practice routine. For instance, when struggling with a grammatical concept or a particular word, they can pair their learning with a physical action. This could also involve rehearsing and continuously repeating a phrase they find challenging while tidying up the kitchen. This dynamic interaction not only reinforces memory integration but also adds an element of fun to the process.

By merging language practice with physical engagement, students can tap into a more holistic learning experience, strengthening their language skills and accelerating their progress in a unique and effective way.

The most useful tip I can give anyone is to be in close contact with the language. The student should immerse in the language as much as possible. Using apps, trying to speak to native, including songs in Spanish to their Spotify lists, watching videos or films in Spanish or just trying to think in Spanish. Whatever it makes a student closer to the language is an excellent resource.
