The issue with toilet paper plastic packaging
More than 8 million metric tons of plastic land in our oceans every year. Marine life ingest plastic mistaking it for food or become entangled in plastic, both scenarios resulting in fatal consequences.
For the most part, the plastic is not dumped into the ocean. Rainwater and rivers carry plastic from land to sea. Our oceans need a dramatic reduction in the world’s consumption of single-use plastic before it’s too late. One great place to start is with toilet paper without plastic packaging in your eco-friendly bathroom.

My personal favorite plastic free toilet paper
While all the brands listed above make an effort to produce less plastic waste, and improve the world that we live in, Who Gives A crap Bamboo Toilet paper takes the efforts to the next level.
Not only Who Gives A crap toilet paper rolls are 100% plastic-free and free of chemicals, but the company also has an ideological cause to help improve the sanitary situation in developing countries.
Here’s a quote from WhoGivesAcrap about page:
“We started Who Gives A Crap when we learnt that 2.4 billion people don’t have access to a toilet (now 2 billion – yay for progress!). That’s roughly 40% of the global population and means that around 289,000 children under five die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. That’s almost 800 children per day, or one child every two minutes.”
For that reason, the company donates up to 50% of its profit to improve sanitation in developing countries. Pretty awesome don’t you think?
